Clair Gough is the lead editor and Nem Vaughan a co-editor of new book by Wiley. In ‘Biomass Energy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS): unlocking negative emissions’ leading experts from bioenergy and CCS are brought together to explore BECCS from a range of perspectives. Available here.
Mirjam Röder and colleagues published a paper on understanding the timing and variation of greenhouse gas emissions from forest bioenergy systems. Their work finds that the mitigation potential depends on forest management and what products are coming from the whole forest. The paper is published in the journal Biomass and Bioenergy.
Nem Vaughan is a co-author on a paper describing the new CMIP6 endorsed Carbon Dioxide Removal Model Intercomparison Project led by Dr David Keller, Dr Andrew Lenton, Dr Vivian Scott and Nem Vaughan. The open access paper describes the experimental set up of the project.
Nem Vaughan, Clair Gough, Mirjam Röder and Anna Harper presented their latest research at the first International Conference on Negative Emissions at Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden. This piece in Carbon Brief provides an overview of the discussions at the conference.
Diarmaid Clery joins the FAB-GGR team at the University of East Anglia to work on the second stakeholder workshop and our policy brief outputs. Diarmaid has submitted his PhD in chemistry and engineering at the University of Leeds where he worked on the impact of biomass combustion on amine sorbents.
